Common Aussie Slang – fairy bread

The expression fairy bread has been in use in Australia since the 1920s. It’s generally considered party food and is frequently served at children’s parties. Anyone can make fairy bread, though. Just follow the recipe below.

Ingredients

sliced white bread
butter
hundreds and thousands

Method

Butter the bread, sprinkle with hundreds and thousands, then cut into triangles (four for each slice).

That’s it. Make it, enjoy it and become a fair dinkum Aussie!
