drop off = to become lower in level, price, value, etc.

A ‘landline’ is a wired home phone (i.e. not a mobile phone). ☎

So, this sentence means that the number of people who want landlines in their homes now is fewer than in the past.

Has the demand for anything else dropped off recently? 🤔
